Join us at Folk at the Froize on 24th November to welcome Derbyshire based singer-songwriter Lucy Ward.

Since Lucy won the Horizon Award for Best Newcomer at the 2012 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, her career has gone from strength to strength. With her love for traditional music, folk stories and poetic lyrics, she has released many albums, worked with talented producers, gained critical acclaim and performed in front of thousands at folk festivals and clubs around the UK. She was also the youngest ever nominee for the prestigious ‘Folk Singer of the Year’ award in 2014. Armed with guitar, ukulele and concertina, Lucy’s lyrical songs tell traditional tales relevant to today.

Bath/Bristol based Johns & Nowak appeared at the Froize for the first time a couple of years ago. We are looking forward to welcoming them back. They like to have fun with American music; weaving together mandolin and guitar and singing songs of heartache and longing. With strong vocal style, driving instrumentals and gentle ballads, this duo are described as ”Classy and compelling” by Americana UK.

Your ticket includes a feast of Froize tapas which will be served from 8pm – 9pm. Please be aware this is a buffet. If you have an food allergies, be sure to inform David prior to the event so he can be prepared.
